Compact Corner Stand for MAPAL.OS at NoVacancy London Project Overview

We worked with MAPAL.OS, a long-standing repeat client and provider of hotel and restaurant management software, on their stand for NoVacancy London 2026. This is one of the UK’s newest hotel and accommodation industry expos held at ExCeL London. It was MAPAL.OS’s first year exhibiting at NoVacancy, testing a new UK show with a smaller display built by a London exhibition stand builder.

The brief was to fit real, premium brand presence into a 3m x 3m corner shell, positioned in a busy area of the hall close to the show’s People & Culture theatre. Rather than treat the smaller footprint as a compromise, we designed the stand to hold its own against much larger neighbours: it was open on two sides and built to feel considered rather than cramped.

We brought in natural timber slat walling across both open-facing walls, softened with green foliage planters at each corner, and layered in MAPAL.OS’s deep purple brand colour across bold graphic walls carrying clear headline messaging and client logos. A curved turquoise LED strip ran along the ceiling line, echoing MAPAL.OS’s brand mark, while giving the stand a pop of colour that helped it stand out from the surrounding shell schemes

A wall-mounted screen ran looping product demo content; an angled reception counter greeted visitors from the open corner without blocking sightlines into the stand, and a small poseur table with stools gave the team a simple, comfortable spot for conversations.

The result showed exactly what’s achievable within a compact 3m x 3m corner: strong brand visibility from both aisles, a clear sense of premium finish, and a functioning meeting space, all within one of the smallest footprints on the show floor.

Booth Specifications

Location: ExCeL London, England

Stand Type: Corner

Size: 9 m²

Client: MAPAL OS

The Problem

  • Deliver strong brand presence and a premium feel within a compact 3m x 3m shell scheme footprint.
  • Make a small corner stand feel open and inviting rather than cramped, within standard shell scheme height and structural limits.
  • Keep the stand visible and legible from both open aisles, including passing traffic from the adjacent show theatre.
  • Provide a functioning demo and meeting space within a 9m² footprint without it feeling overcrowded.
  • Maintain visual consistency with MAPAL.OS’s existing brand identity and previous larger stand builds, on a smaller show-testing budget.
  • Work within shell scheme restrictions: fixed panel heights, limited power, and no rigging, while still delivering a distinctive look.

The Solution

We designed a stand built to feel considered and premium rather than a standard shell scheme.

Key elements of the solution included:

  • Natural timber slat walling across both open-facing walls, adding warmth and texture within the shell’s structural limits.
  • Green foliage planters positioned at each open corner, softening the stand’s edges and framing the entrance.
  • Bold purple brand-colour graphic walls carrying clear headline messaging and supporting client logos, visible from both aisles.
  • A curved turquoise LED light strip along the ceiling line, echoing MAPAL.OS’s brand mark and giving the stand a distinctive pop of colour.
  • A wall-mounted screen running looping product demo content as the stand’s digital touchpoint.
  • An angled reception counter positioned at the open corner, greeting visitors without blocking sightlines into the stand.
  • A small poseur table and stools tucked to the side, giving the team a simple, comfortable space for conversations.

The Result

We delivered a compact stand that proved a small footprint doesn’t mean a small impact.

Outcomes included:

  • Strong brand presence and clear messaging visible from both open aisles, including passing theatre traffic.
  • A stand that felt open, warm and premium rather than a standard shell scheme, despite the compact 9m² footprint.
  • A working demo and meeting space that gave the MAPAL.OS team room to hold real conversations within the space.
  • A stand that held its own visually against larger neighbouring builds on the show floor.
  • A smooth build and installation that matched the approved layout and orientation exactly.

The project showed what’s possible for a long-standing client testing a new show on a smaller budget, proving that a 3m x 3m corner stand can carry the same premium feel and brand presence as a much larger build.
